First opened in 1901, Uthuset was home to the furnituremaker Kristian Wilhelmsen. Since then, it has been used by many small businesses including shoemakers and sign painters, and was the long-time home of Graff, a local craft brewery.
In 2023, it was taken over by a group of creatives working in the outdoor industry as a co-working and community space. With a passion for skiing, climbing, and mountaineering at its core, Uthuset hosts regular events, screenings, talks, pop-ups, and workshops for Tromsø’s outdoor community.
